My first blog entry

Over vacation, I am most excited about seeing my family. I don't get to see them as much as I would like because they live out of state. New York never seems as far away as during the holidays.

Reminder 1/13/11:

Please remember to check out my "Hunger Games" wiki for links to the rubric, a copy of the anticipation guide, and blog entry topics. I will be adding resources to it as I see that you need them. Also, I will be grading your first entry or entries next week. If you do many short ones for the first part, I can grade them as one. Remember, I want at least ten entries by the end of the book. You must also have a discussion of each of the statements from the anticipation guide. As Effie Trinket would say, "Happy Blogging! And may the grades be ever in your favor!" :-)

First 8th grade blog entry

Things to include:
  • First reactions to the characters, the events, and/or the writing style
  • The first statement of the anticipation guide: "Older siblings need to take care of and have responsibility for their younger siblings."
  • Any arguments with character's views, actions etc.
  • Predictions of what is to come based on the information in chapters 1 and 2
  • Pictures and/or links that help to support your points

Blog Grading...

I have also added a link about how I will be grading your blog entries. I know that we went over it briefly in class, but I need you to actually go and read what is there to get what the scoring is based on. :-) I will be actually grading the blogs so far this week.

Resource Wiki

I will be adding resources for you on a resource wiki. When you go to http://kingfield.msad58.org, click on wikis. Then you will select "Hunger Games Series" and check out the variety of resources available to you. So far you will find a page about what blogging is and suggestions for the first few entries to get you started.
